A snow squall is a sudden, localized burst of moderate to heavy snowfall accompanied by strong, gusty surface winds and often with visibility reductions, leading to whiteout conditions. These squalls can occur independently or in lines and are typically short-lived, lasting anywhere from minutes to an hour. The rapid accumulation of snow and the quick reduction in visibility can cause extremely dangerous travel conditions.
